curiosity killed the cat.

But for Rebecca Michener, it opened up an entire universe of imagination.

Rebecca is a (mostly) self-taught artist who has been creating for most of her life. However, it wasn't until the pandemic in 2020 that she found her true voice as an artist. After years of struggling with perfectionism and seeking external validation, Rebecca discovered the joy of play and pure expression while creating art. Her painting is an intuitive process, where she and the painting find each other as they go along.

Rebecca's paintings are bold, garish, joyful, maximalist, surreal, chaotic, feminist and dreamlike. They explore the chaos and order in the universe and look at the world with a childlike sense of awe. Through her art, Rebecca inspires others to embrace their imperfections and make expressive art. She believes that joy and beauty can be found in chaos, and that through living the human experience, we are all art creating art with each and every choice.

Rebecca's work is a reflection of her personal journey, as well as a celebration of the universal human experience. Her art is a reminder to never lose sight of the joy in creating, and to embrace the messiness of life and view it through a lens of childlike wonder.
